Jeudi 19 avril 2018

Luxury of luxuries, I
take a shower, a real one on land and wash my hair. The port office is open and
it's the same harbor master as in 2015 and 2016. He has a particularity: he
dresses from head to toe in one color and changes every day. When we arrive, he
is navy blue. We also carry all our laundry to "Green Shirt", the
laundry. Our anchor from behind is not very far and Jens would like to go with
the zodiac to lift it and put it back further away but he can’t. We detach everything
and take it up, do a little round in the water and put it back. We take
the opportunity to change places, we were in the corner of the port and it
seems to us that the waves bounce in this corner and go back the other way. So we
are more in the middle of the pier. Jens orders the diesel truck, but I'm
not there when they deliver it, I go shopping, I buy postcards, writing paper
and envelopes, I have papers to arrange for my retirement in France. Here you
can buy paper per sheet and envelopes individually. I go back to the same
bookstore where I bought colored paper in 2016 to prepare the songs for Jens’ birthday in Sifnos. We then go together
by bike to the chandler which has a lot of things then to the marina at the end
of the bay. This marina is unfinished, no services, no water, no electricity
and, in addition, it’s a little in the middle of nowhere. But it has an immense
advantage, it is well protected and the boats don’t dance like in the big harbor.
As the weather forecast is winds F 7 for Saturday, and we are tired of rolling,
we are going to move. We talk with people on two sailboats that are happy to be
there and one of them tells Jens that there is another chandler near the
marina. We go there and that little shop has, if it's possible, even more
things than the other one. In addition, the owner is an engineer and
understands Jens’ problems. He will, for exemple, even get aluminum plates to put under the
engine that is now enhanced. We return to town to swim on our platform, have
lunch on the boat and rest a bit. Jens pays for the berth and takes water. We
have consumed 150 l in 11 days, it is not much, we are used to save with Maja
who has only 100 l of water. On Hera II, the main reservoir plus a reserve has,
in all, 300 l. Swimming number 2, we get the laundry back at 6 pm and we raise
the anchor. The crossing takes a quarter of an hour and we dock at the marina,
deep inside, along a dock. It seems good not to roll all the time. Ankerdram,
the crossing was so hard ... I start the blog and have a lot of problems with
my photos, I don’t see them on the computer but see only red squares, so to
select them without seeing them, it's a mess. I make a list of numbers, but don’t
remember if photo 12 364, for example, is a flower, the boat or a landscape. We
ride our bikes downtown to eat, it takes 10 minutes and come back in the dark,
but we have good lights on our bikes.
