Les charters partent à 8 h et nous à 9 h. Peu de vent mais vieilles vagues et Hera II bouge un peu. Puis le vent se lève, F 3-4, presque de face (encore !). Nous allons nordd-ouest et allons passer à l’intérieur de l’ile de Trizonia, tout va bien, quand le moteur s’étouffe et s’arrête. Nous

sommes assez près de la terre et déroulons vite le foc pour nous en éloigner, nous allons plus au milieu du golf. Jens purge l’air de l’arrivée de diésel, et le moteur redémarre. Nous pensons que le problème est résolu quand le moteur s’étouffe de nouveau. Jens descend vite et pompe, à la main, du diésel directement dans le moteur qui reprend vigueur. Nous reprenons notre route vers Navpaktos quand le moteur a de nouveau des problèmes. Jens montre à Catherine comment pomper du diésel et elle reste en bas pour être prête et cela se produit encore une fois. Elle pompe et le moteur reprend sa puissance. Nous discutons et décidons de nous arrêter à Trizonia, si le moteur s’arrête nous pouvons y arriver sous foc avec le vent. Ce serait plus difficile d’arriver dans le port de Navpaktos, et c’est plus loin. Nous tournons donc vers l’ile de Trizonia, Catherine en bas prête à pomper et Jens et moi en haut prêts à dérouler le foc si le moteur s’arrête de nouveau. Mais le moteur tient le coup et nous arrivons sans problème à la marina inachevée et abandonnée de Trizonia. Baignade, lunch et Jens se plonge dans le moteur. Il change un filtre et espère que c’était cela la cause du problème. Le moteur démarre bien et tourne rond. Nous allons ensuite nous promener et, deuxième émotion de la journée, voyons des énormes araignées, les plus grosses que j’ai jamais vues en Europe. Très jolie promenade autour de l’ile, nombreuses fleurs et belle vue. Et pour bien terminer cette journée riche en émotions, Catherine nous offre le restaurant.

The charters leave at 8 am and we at 9 am. Little wind but old waves and Hera II moves a little. Then the wind rises, F 3-4, almost from the front (again!). We are going northwest and planning to pass between the island of Trizonia and the “continent”, all is well, when the engine chokes and stops. We are close enough to the land and, quicly, take up the jib to get away from it, we go more in the middle of the golf. Jens purges the air from the diesel, and the engine starts again. We think the problem is solved when the engine chokes again. Jens goes down quickly and pumps, by hand, the diesel directly into the engine which takes again vigor. We resume our course to Navpaktos when the engine is in trouble again. Jens shows Catherine how to pump the diesel and she stays down to be ready and this happens again. She pumps and the engine regains its power. We discuss and decide to stop at Trizonia, if the engine stops we can get there under jib with the wind. It would be more difficult to enter Navpaktos harbor, and that's further away. So we turn to the island of Trizonia, Catherine down ready to pump and jens and I upstairs ready to unwind the jib if the engine stops again. But the engine holds up and we arrive safely at the unfinished and abandoned marina of Trizonia. Swimming, lunch and Jens works in the engine. He changes a filter and hopes that was the cause of the problem. The engine starts well and runs well. We go for a walk in the afternoon and, second emotion of the day, see huge spiders, the largest that I have ever seen in Europe. Very nice walk around the island, many flowers and beautiful views. And to end well this day rich in emotions, Catherine offers us the restaurant.
