Samedi 31 mars 2018

Bien dormi.

We slept well. We have breakfast inside, it's still cool outside. Jens goes shopping, plastic boxes to store screws, bolts etc ... Spyros arrives with two guys specialized in boat refrigerators, "ours" does not work anymore. The boss can fix it, he can change the compressor. He works well and even is welding a piece on the kitchen floor. But he is careful and has the fire extinguisher close to him. Jens and Spyros add oil to the engine, there was not enough. Meanwhile I start the blog. I see that the yachts close to us that were parallel to the pier are changing their position, they are going to put an anchor in front of them, are backing and stand now perpendicular to the pier. I ask the neighbor why and he tells me that strong wind will arrive this afternoon and that it is safer this way. Jens looks at the weather forecast and it's true, but the wind will be from the south. The pier is oriented north-south, so we decide to stay along it, we will have the wind in the nose. I put more fenders, even the big red one. Only another sailboat is like us, but we think it is always better to have the waves and the wind in the nose. The others, perpendicular to the wharf, will have the wind on their side. Spyros and the fridge guys leave and we have lunch outside. We then have a little "stillestund", a moment of rest and in fact we fall asleep both of us, like old people! I do a little bit of cleaning, Hera II needs it, and Jens continues to work with the electrical installations. The wind is strong in the late afternoon. We want to see its strength but the anemometer does not work, and yet Jens tested it and he worked when he reinstalled it. One more thing to fix. I go shopping, make a little dinner of eggs and a kind of ratatouille and we dine outside. The wind becomes stronger, a strong F 6, probably F 7 in the gusts, but Hera II does not move too much and the movements are not violent. The wind is south, a few degrees east, but no problem. We go to bed listening to the wind howling in the rigging.

Merker at gleden over gjensyn med Hera vokser. Sommeren er snart over oss :-) Takk for arbeidsinnsatsen ombord og god ferie!
